Responding to the Central Digital and Data Office (CDDO)’s Data Maturity Assessment for Government, Steve Thorn said:
STEVE THORN,
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (CENTRAL GOVERNMENT)
The CDDO’s Data Maturity Assessment is both timely and urgently needed.
Only last month, Chief Scientific Adviser Sir Patrick Vallance outlined the considerable challenges around data exploitation across our public services, which are blocking innovative approaches which could benefit ordinary people and communities.
From data literacy and leadership to data quality, sharing and analytics, the Assessment Framework asks exactly the right questions and will provide a clear, joined up picture of where strengths and weaknesses lie across the public sector.
As a UK-headquartered leader in GovTech, we look forward to supporting the UK Government in its endeavour to ensure that the rich vein of data currently lying idle is helping to deliver real benefits for citizens and communities right across the country.
