Government's Roadmap for Digital and Data, launched June 2022, sets out a common cross-government vision for digital and data transformation by 2025. The roadmap also supports some of the goals set out in the National Data Strategy.
But where are we on the journey? What are the main obstacles to achieving the goals set out in the NDS? And what’s the impact of all of this on the end user?
Civica teamed up with Dods Research to discover the answers. We gathered insights through a roundtable discussion and a survey of 848 UK civil servants in July 2022. And we uncovered the views of four core data communities: senior strategy decision makers, data specialists, project managers and end users of data. The results are available in the white paper 'Unlocking the power of government data'.

- How government departments’ data strategies are aligned to the NDS
- The progress so far on the four priorities of data foundations, data skills, data availability and responsible data
- The challenges in achieving data priorities and goals
- Four recommendations to unlock the power of data.
