Civica Ensure delivers core insurance platform for HBF’s digital transformation
Enabling HBF to complete its end-to-end migration to cloud-based systems - for a better member experience.
Melbourne, Australia – 15 October 2024: Civica, a global GovTech champion supporting the needs of citizens and those who serve them, was selected three years ago to implement the foundational platform of its multi-year ‘Transformation Program’, which HBF has now officially launched.
Civica Ensure – an insurance policy, product and claims platform, is designed to create greater flexibility when it comes to product life cycles and speed to market, while providing the backbone of all HBF’s new systems. Since partnering with Civica, HBF has had the ability to choose best-of-breed applications for its members, that can all be integrated using the Civica Ensure platform.

Civica has been a key part of HBF’s digital transformation, and it was their teams’ deep knowledge of private health insurance (PHI) that was a key determining factor in the selection process.
Civica provides HBF with a core insurance platform, migrating the organisation from the legacy mainframe to a modern cloud-based architecture.
In just three years, we were able to implement a new Core Insurance Policy, Product and Claims platform, and successfully migrate all our members to this, which is a true testament to the collaboration between HBF and Civica.
In addition, we have also integrated Civica with our new customer relationship management tool (CRM) and data platforms to provide our members, providers and employees with better insights and experiences.
